The Golden Flashes traveled to Indianapolis to take on the IUPUI Jaguars in their solo game this week for the holiday break.

The Golden Flashes got out to a 13 point lead at halftime, outscoring IUPUI 18-8 in the paint and 10-2 on the fast break.

Senior forward Tom Moss led the Golden Flashes at the half, scoring 10 points on 3 of 6 shooting. Sophomore center Jack Brown would add 8 points in the first half off the bench. For the Jaguars, Senior forward Brandon Simons and Junior guard Allen Williams would both score nine points in the first half.

Kent State would come out ice cold in the second half, as the Jaguars would outscore them 41-28 to send the game into overtime. Thankfully for the Golden Flashes, the ice melted away in the overtime period as they outscore IUPUI 13-10 to pick up the three-point 89-86 win.

Senior Kurtis McCrary led Kent State with 23 points in his 35 minutes, while dishing out five assists. Senior forward Tom Moss scored 14 points with seven rebounds. Jack Brown led the bench with 10 points and five rebounds. For IUPUI four of their five starters would score double digits. They were led by Senior guard Jeff Carroll with 19 points, four rebounds, and four steals. Senior Brandon Simons scored 16 points with 4 rebounds.

The Kent State bench would outscore IUPUI 31-18 while outscoring them 28-24 in the paint and 12-6 on fast break points. Kent State is now on break until December 26th.
