Canucks outlast Sabres

Craig Anderson stopped 24 of 26 but it wasn’t enough for the Sabres as they drop their 3 straight. The Canucks started the scoring at the 10:59 period of the 2nd period when Miller got one past Anderson. The Sabres were able to tie it just 54 seconds laster thanks to Jakub Voracek. But Miller as able to put the game winner past Anderson with 15:42 left in the 3rd period. Thatcher Demko stopped 32 of 33 with a .970 save percentage to pick up the win.


Boston dominates Buffalo on way to shutout win

It was all Boston tonight as the Sabres continue to be winless on the young season. Buffalo had plenty of powerplay opportunities but were never able to capitalize.


Buffalo keeps it close but still take loss

This was the most complete game the Sabres have played so far this season. The Sabres fall to 0-4-1 on the season. The Devils opened up the scoring at the 17:53 mark of the 1st period when Tim Schaller scored his 1st of the season, with assists going to Zacha and Graves. The Sabres were able to tie it 3:33 into the 2nd period with Boone Jenner (Voracek, Girgensons) getting his 2nd of the season. But the Devils would score 2 more before the 2nd period was over to take a 3-1 lead into the intermission thanks to Hughes netting his 1st and Hischier his 2nd.

Buffalo was able to get back within one at the 3:05 mark of the 3rd period with Victor Olofsson scoring his 2nd of the season with the assists going to Mittelstadt and Butcher.

Mackenzie Blackwood started in net for the New Jesey Devils, he had accumulated a 0-2-0 record with a .789 save percentage and a 6.74 GAA. Tonight he stopped 28 of 30 with a .933 save percentage on his way to the win. Aaron Dell who had accumulated a 0-1-0 record with a .813 save percentage and 5.28 goals allowed average got the start for the Sabres. Tonight he stopped 29 of 32 with a .906 save percentage on the way to the loss.
